This flooding occurred on the 7th July 2012 and was caused by 70-80mm of rain falling in under 24 hours after an exceptionally wet start to summer. Many streams and rivers burst their banks, including the River Otter which (just) reached the 3rd highest recorded since 1962, with 2.63m (174.6 cubic meters per second) at Dotton. This was thankfully not quite as high as the 2.82m (212.4 m3/s) in October 2008. I was out of the country at this time so did not actually witness this event, however here are some photos that my dad took of the flooding itself, and then some more of the aftermath that I took.
